About David Tomljenovic
David brings extensive experience from the Financial Services sector having worked 25 years on Bay Street Most recently he was a Corporate Finance and Strategy Advisor for Infiniti Labs (Toronto / Hong Kong), Automotive, and Smart City Accelerator, where he provided financial and mergers and acquisition advisory services to accelerator participants with a focus on early stage fund raising activities.
Earlier, David was an Investment Strategist advisor to the Water Technology Accelerator Program (WaterTAP), where he developed a post accelerator internally manged fund strategy. He has also been a Lecturer at Ryerson University's, Ted Rogers School of Management, MBA Finance Program.
David was a Managing Director at Cantor Fitzgerald and was responsible for establishing the Diversified Industries investment banking business and later assumed responsibility for the Technology investment banking group. David was also a Managing Director of equity research at Cantor Fitzgerald.
Prior to these roles, David worked for seven years at Sprott Asset Management, where he progressed from analyst to associate portfolio manger, and then became a portfolio manager responsible for $1 billion of hedge and equity fund investments. Previously, he worked at Clarus Securities, where he was Brendan Wood's top-ranked special situations equity analyst. He also spent many years working at both the Royal Bank of Canada and Royal Bank Capital Markets in various roles.
He was a Bregman Scholar at the University of Toronto's Rotman School of Management, where he received an MBA with a concentration in finance and strategy. Later he received a Masters of Law from Osgoode Hall Law School, where he focused on corporate and securities law. He completed his Honours Bachelor of Arts, History, at the University of Western Ontario and attended Royal St George's College for high school.
David has extensive financial industry licensing and accreditations including a Chartered Investment Manager (CIM) designation. He has also been a Cisco Certified Network Architect.
