About Yaz Palanichamy

Yaz brings a multidisciplinary background to his role at Info-Tech Research Group, with prior experience spanning strategic IT consulting, banking, project management, academic research advisement, and business consulting, including software and IT vendor procurement engagements.

In his current role as a Senior Research and Advisory Analyst on Info-Tech’s Customer Experience and Application Insights team, Yaz plays a key role in advising members on vendor market research and software selection initiatives. He leads and supports custom vendor landscape engagements and contributes to the delivery of Info-Tech’s Software Selection as a Service (SSaaS) advisory offerings. Through this work, Yaz provides strategic guidance to organizations navigating the selection of primarily non-enterprise commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) software, helping clients reduce risk, improve decision quality, and optimize procurement outcomes. His advisory contributions have generated approximately $120,288 in projected measured value for Info-Tech clients over a 4–6 month period.

Yaz also supports the development and publication of Info-Tech research blueprints, with a focus on customer experience management, marketing technology (MarTech), software selection buyer’s guides, and sustainability and ESG reporting best practices within IT.

Throughout his tenure, Yaz has collaborated with Info-Tech members and clients across a diverse range of industries, including higher education, engineering and professional services, public sector and government, healthcare and pharmaceuticals, non-profit organizations, and financial services.

In addition to his industry experience, Yaz is an accomplished academic researcher. He has authored and co-authored multiple peer-reviewed publications in leading academic journals, including the Journal of Cleaner Production, Expert Systems with Applications, and the International Journal of Applied Decision Sciences. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) in Business Technology Management and a Master of Science (MSc) in Management from Toronto Metropolitan University’s Yeates School of Graduate Studies.

Outside of his professional work, Yaz is actively engaged in community involvement and volunteerism. He regularly serves as a mentorship advisor, contributes to charitable giving initiatives through Info-Tech’s fundraising committee, and supports external organizations, including local chapters of Ronald McDonald House Charities.
