Critical Insight

  • Business value must drive your roadmap. Of the 11 vendor capabilities asked about in Info-Tech’s Software Reviews, “business value created” has the second highest relationship with overall software satisfaction.
  • IT cannot be the authority on business value. The business evaluates the performance of application managers on their ability to provide value. Do not assume; learn what is valuable and align your objectives to that.
  • Take an iterative approach. Larger approaches take longer and are more likely to fail. Identify the applications that address your strategic objectives, build a roadmap for them first, and then repeat.
