What differentiates Sigma from other similar products?
Sigma provides a familiar, Excel-like interface for exploring and analyzing data. Unlike Excel, it works directly on live cloud data warehouses (like Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift), enabling real-time analysis at scale without extracts or imports. Uses your data warehouse’s native security, roles, and permissions, so you don't need to replicate data elsewhere. Ensures row- and column-level security without duplicating access control logic. Enables real-time collaboration in workbooks and version tracking—similar to Google Docs, but for data exploration.
What is your favorite aspect of this product?
It effectively bridges the gap between self-service and enterprise analytics, allowing both analysts and non-technical users to explore, transform, and share insights directly on live data—all while maintaining the trust and security of the underlying data platform.
What do you dislike most about this product?
What I dislike most about Sigma is that its visualization and dashboard customization options are somewhat limited compared to more mature BI tools like Tableau or Power BI.
What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?
Sigma is built to work directly on live data in cloud warehouses like Snowflake, BigQuery, or Redshift. Make sure your data is well-structured and optimized in your warehouse for the best performance. Encourage business users who are comfortable with Excel to adopt Sigma—it bridges familiarity with powerful analytics. Provide training to help them use formulas, filters, and pivots effectively. Create and manage trusted, curated datasets centrally to ensure consistency and governance while empowering self-service analytics.

What differentiates Sigma from other similar products?
Sigma taps into our info super quickly and has dramatically reduced the time to business insights. As a Marketer, we tend to used to rely completely on a team that required to write SQL to pull the info I can currently pull with sigma. The interface is pretty intuitive and works seamlessly. I also extremely liked the user onboarding seminar sigma did with our company – putt real examples in front of us with our data.
What is your favorite aspect of this product?
Sigma is ideal for my tiny startup information team as we’re attempting to get the foremost insights potential from our SQL database. It works smoothly, is comparatively intuitive to use, and therefore the support is admittedly great. It works in an exceedingly manner that’s much more intuitive for several business users than almost the other Bi tool out there however is additionally super friendly to customization and complex builds.
What do you dislike most about this product?
I don’t like how restricted calculated fields are. The extent of detail you’ll reach with Tableau is lacking with Sigma. E.g., LOD calculations, row calculations, and a few of the visualization customizations. It did conjointly take a minute for our team to urge the merchandise up and running to a point where someone who has restricted SQL data may use it.
What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?
Sigma permits easier access to Snowflake data and is straightforward to use. Rather than sudden failures like we practiced in Power BI, we will see query times increase or exceed standards when creating the reports, enabling us to correct inefficient queries without downtime. Thus its recommended.

What differentiates Sigma from other similar products?
Sigma makes it simple for an analyst who is comfortable in excel to research info data in a way that’s familiar to them without having a deep familiarity with SQL. Team is highly, highly engaged and prepared to hop on a call and improve their product. Have had nice experiences with 2 people, one of them twice. Documentation is incredibly higher than average. Unbeatable easy use; empowers business users to access data on their own, without needing the information team to help with every request.
What is your favorite aspect of this product?
I prefer however simple it’s to blend different discrete information sources without having to code. The speed of the analysis is good and is a nice mixture of absolutely governed data and free analysis. Sigma permits easier access to Snowflake data and is easy to use. Rather than sudden failures like we experienced in Power BI, we are able to see query times increase or exceed standards whereas making the reports, enabling us to correct inefficient queries without downtime.
What do you dislike most about this product?
As with any early and extremely aspirational product, there are little bugs here and there, however, they have truly been pretty few and once they exist they have been low implications. I do stand with this company. They seem to have been creating robust enhancements with a savvy roadmap as they go.
What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?
This is often an excellent tool. We’ve been ready to implement and have our users produce helpful insights all in under a week.
