Salesforce Set to Release LXP, myTrailhead, in 2019
Salesforce is entering into the LXP market with myTrailhead, which is built off of its Trailhead free learning platform. myTrailhead will offer companies the ability to customize the platform and embed the learning experience right into Salesforce.
myTrailhead takes the existing content from your LMS and pulls it into the platform through a guided setup process. New content can be created within the platform and the content Salesforce created through Trailhead can also be used to create learning and skills modules.
As technology continues to shift, the new skills needed are constantly shifting, and organizations are bearing the responsibility of training their staff to keep up. Salesforce recognizes that companies need to adopt a culture of learning and by launching myTrailhead, it empowers organizations to adopt that culture and upskill their employees without leaving the Salesforce platform.
It will have many common features like being mobile-friendly, customizable to the organization’s branding, and the ability to create unique learning paths for individuals. Its gamification through a badge and reward system is a fun way to keep employees engaged and make learning more fun.
With myTrailhead, Salesforce is creating a product that will require every employee to have their own seat for training and monitoring compliance. For organizations that already have the majority of their staff on Salesforce it might not be a sticking point, but for organizations that share seats or only use Salesforce for their sales and marketing teams this will most likely be an expensive option for a learning experience platform.
