MS Product, and it shows
Likeliness to Recommend
What differentiates Microsoft Teams from other similar products?
Microsoft is a 10-ton gorilla in the game of the office tools. Therefore, it is no surprise when they came out with MS Teams for customers to collaborate, and connect with each other. The differentiation is that most companies already have MS Office installed, along with a suite of other MS applications, so their portfolio of offer is the key differentiator.
What is your favorite aspect of this product?
What I like is the ability to create team folders and share assets to whoever needs access within the folder. This makes file sharing/updating/version control a breeze.
What do you dislike most about this product?
The quality of the team meetings and the consistency of people's ability to stay dialed into a meeting appears to be an after-thought. Compared to Google, Zoom, Slack, and even WebEx, MS Teams rank the lowest in terms of meeting quality, and technical issues always arise when we use MS Team for conferences.
What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?
Despite how many MS office you have in your tech stack, test it out first. Do tests with people in the same office, with another office around the globe, and with your clients. Seek multiple advice of current users, they can tell you what their experiences are like.
Pros
- Transparent
Cons
- Less Efficient Service
- Leverages Incumbent Status
- Less Reliable
