Create and Manage Enterprise Data Models
About This Webinar
Models are constructed to represent the real world and make it more understandable. Similarly, data models are a powerful communication tool for both IT professionals and businesses. Data models convey abstract business concepts and their relationships via diagrams and have the flexibility to depict the same information at different levels of abstraction to suit its audience.
The three layers that are commonly used are conceptual, logical, and physical. Each plays a unique and important role in data architecture and data management. However, conceptual and logical models are neglected as IT only needs and requires physical models, and therefore, data architecture is often reduced to a mere physical modeling exercise. Part of the problem is development cycles that do not include architecture.
Join our webinar where you will learn how to:
- Split data architecture and data modeling into two distinct but interdependent activities.
- Incorporate reference models early in the model development process.
- Extend the use of the conceptual model to data access management and business architecture.
