Total cost of ownership (TCO) is an important consideration when deciding on consolidated networked storage. Comparative analysis of TCO can help you decide whether to move forward with a project or go back to the drawing board. A careful TCO analysis can also help you to justify your proposed project to secure funding.

Depending on your upgrade project, there are two types of TCO comparisons you might want to make:

  • TCO of the existing infrastructure vs. TCO of your proposed project.
  • TCO of multiple proposed projects (e.g. Tier One SAN vs. Tier Two SAN).

Use this tool to get a realistic sense of costs beyond the initial capital purchase and to compare total costs between multiple storage offerings.
