Atlassian Introduces Confluence Content Analytics With the Acquisition of Good Software

With the acquisition of Good Software, Atlassian is able to provide Confluence users with the ability to obtain analytics related to content.

According to Atlassian these new analytical offerings will, “help individuals and teams understand how people engage with their content in Confluence” and “help admins understand how Confluence is used throughout their organization.”

Atlassian suggests that its new analytics tool will make Confluence more powerful through:

  • The creation of more engaging content
  • Increased accountability
  • The ability to keep spaces organized

Our Take

Atlassian claims that these new analytic capabilities are its customer’s number one request for product improvement. This indicates that Atlassian has focused on customer satisfaction, one of the key metrics used to determine successful product delivery.

Since the launch of these improvements in April 2019, our research has not revealed any customer issues with this new product feature. This could indicate that these new features have no flaws or that the product needs more customer usage to determine if potential issues exist.
