What differentiates Wonderlic Select from other similar products?

What I find useful is how it adds another layer to the screening process. I'm not relying entirely on the resume or my first impression of a candidate.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

I like having another data point when I'm reviewing candidates. There are times when two people look almost identical on paper and an additional assessment can give me something to consider before deciding who should move forward.

What do you dislike most about this product?

I wouldn't use the score on its own to judge someone. A candidates background, communication, experience and interview performance still tell me things that an assessment cannot.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

I'd recommend Wonderlic Select for organizations that want a structured approach to candidate evaluation particularly when hiring at volume. It works best for me as supporting information than a replacement for recruiter judgement.

What differentiates Wonderlic Select from other similar products?

We used wonderlic along with two other assessments in one session for candidates to decipher if they matched what we were looking for. This differentiates in the sense it’s not a personality test but it states how well a candidate may perform in this role.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

That the test is challenging and someone who isn’t interested will not perform well enough and typically takes themselves out of the process because of it.

What do you dislike most about this product?

Some people are smart but just don’t test ell which at my finish means that they will not qualify to move forward in the hiring process.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

That this test shouldn’t be treated as a pass/fail. This test should be treated as a guide in the hiring process and not an end all.

What differentiates Wonderlic Select from other similar products?

What I found that differentiated Wonderlic Select was its holistic approach. You did not just receive an "upfront candidate assessment tool" with dry and cold results. No, we were provided with a multitude of resources that would allow our hiring managers to make informed decisions during the hiring process -- including (and very helpful) interview guides that would focus on the perceived areas of "concern" within results.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

I really appreciated the customization of assessments. The ability to "blend" roles into 1 assessment was critical to our business. It's very seldom that one canned assessment would perfectly fit a role within our ORG -- but with the ability to customize, we found great success.

What do you dislike most about this product?

Even with the customization, there were still some times when it felt like the assessments just didn't hit the mark (very seldom)

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

Really take some time with your Talent Acquisition group, along with key stakeholders in the business, to assess exactly what you want this product to do for you. It can't be the final determination in the candidate consideration process -- simply a tool. So be very clear on what you want this tool to accomplish for you.
