What differentiates Semarchy Data Platform from other similar products?
From my experience, the key differentiator of Semarchy is the flexibility it offers for managing complex customer data models and relationships without heavy development effort. In our case at Sanofi, Semarchy supports the OneCustomer platform to manage HCP and HCO master data across multiple global markets, and it allows us to maintain a global data model while still accommodating local market requirements. The match and merge capabilities are also very effective for handling data coming from multiple sources such as IQVIA and other systems, helping us maintain a reliable golden record that feeds CRM and downstream platforms.
What is your favorite aspect of this product?
One aspect I particularly like is the flexibility in configuring data models and match/merge rules. In a global MDM setup like our OneCustomer platform at Sanofi, where customer data comes from multiple sources and markets, this flexibility helps us adapt the platform without major redevelopment while maintaining a consistent global data framework. I also appreciate the data stewardship interface, which allows business users to review & resolve data issues directly instead of relying entirely on technical teams. This makes day-to-day data quality management much more efficient & enables faster resolution of data conflicts across markets.
What do you dislike most about this product?
One area that could be improved is the user interface performance when working with large datasets. In global MDM implementations like ours, where we manage customer data across multiple markets, navigating large volumes of records can sometimes feel a bit slow. Another aspect is that for more complex configurations or integrations, the documentation and examples could be more detailed. Having more practical implementation guidance would make it easier for teams to adopt advanced features faster.
What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?
I would recommend clearly defining your data governance model and customer data processes before implementing the platform. Semarchy works best when there is clarity on data ownership, stewardship, and match/merge rules across business and technical teams from the beginning of the program. It is also helpful to involve both business data stewards and technical teams early in the design phase, especially when modeling customer entities and integrations with other systems. With the right governance and architecture in place, the platform can work very well for managing enterprise master data across multiple markets and systems.
