What differentiates Matomo from other similar products?

As a government agency we don't want our visitors to have their traffic monetized by third parties, Matomo allows us to keep our traffic statistics completely in house and private.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

I can easily export data in useable formats that can be read by non-technical business leaders to gain insights into how our website is being used.

What do you dislike most about this product?

My monthly reports have so much data that is not valuable for management. I need to strip a lot of data out of the reports before I pass them on. It would be nice to have a summary report.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

you can run this software in parallel with commercial vendors and get an understanding of the statistical differences between the two data sets before you completely transition to Matomo

Open source, great privacy aspects. Easy to use and a fair and transparent organization behind it.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

Privacy, open source

What do you dislike most about this product?

WordPress plugin to link to custom Matomo install has not been recently updated. It worries me a little.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

Try it out and ditch Google Analytics :)
