For the last couple of years, artificial intelligence (AI) has been given more than its fair share of hype. However, the currently realistic applications of AI can improve how unstructured, language-based knowledge that is prevalent in healthcare is analyzed and actioned upon to make more trustworthy and faster data-driven decisions. This note provides a realistic and cautionary approach to leveraging this new technology in healthcare.
