Info-Tech’s MeasureIT initiative provides insight into the operational differences of various industries. This note focuses specifically on IT work effort allocation within the healthcare industry. Specifically, it explores differences in the areas of applications development, help desk operation, and security.
The figures are based on responses to questions about how FTEs are allocated within a particular IT department. The presented values are the median category responses normalized to 100%. That is, IT managers can only allocate 100% of their headcount. Discrepancies are proportionally allocated to the different categories.
