What differentiates Progress ShareFile from other similar products?

Sharefile stands out to me mainly because it combines secure file transfer with file sharing, access control and support for larger files in one platform. The security and permission side is useful, while the cloud and deployment flexibility makes it practical for different environments. I would not say every feature is unique on its own but the overall combo is what makes it different.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

Being able to move and share larger files while still having security and access control around them. The overall process is fairly straightforward which is what people appreciate most.

What do you dislike most about this product?

I would like to see the workflow automation part improved. The core file transfer functionality works well, but I would like more triggers, conditions, chained action and flexibility overall. Having more options here would reduce some of the manual steps around repetitive file transfer.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

I would recommend looking at Sharefile if secure file transfer, controlled access and large file handling are important requirements. I would also spend some time evaluating the automation capabilities and pricing against the particular use case. it is worth checking the integration and deployment options beforehand so you know they fit your environment.

What differentiates Progress ShareFile from other similar products?

It has built in feature for the electronic signature and documents request which I find pretty different.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

The smooth integration with the other tools such as Microsoft 365 is pretty impressive which enhance my workflow and I can customize the portal of clients so I can share files more professionally.

What do you dislike most about this product?

For the collaboration the user need proper and complete guidance or else it will be stopped and advanced permissions requires proper configuration.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

Makes sure to takes as much as advantage from the activity log which can useful for the documents usage.

What differentiates Progress ShareFile from other similar products?

ShareFile is simple and easy to use. It is self-contained within it's console and can be implemented fairly quickly. It allows for on-prem and off-prem (and hybrid) utilization, allowing for full customization implementation within any organization/enterprise architecture. The interface is simplistic for End User and Administrative control and allows for multiple admins simultaenously work within the console to manage users, files, and servers.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

ShareFile is light on end user need. They can simply log in, upload what they need, and send it out pretty efficiently. Due to the simplicity, almost any level of user, with minimal guidance, can be sending out material within minutes of an account being created. The connection back to our MFA allows for very quick setup from an admin side as well.

What do you dislike most about this product?

ShareFile, especially within then last calendar year, has gone down many times within the last year and sent numerous communications about poor service. This, coupled with the constant need for Day 0 patching has turned into a chore to handle every couple months. There was no need for maintainence for 4 years of owning this, but then 2 times within the same year, we needed to complete Day 0 patching.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

Know what you are getting from this product before commiting to contract. Other products offer deeper integration and features, but ShareFile, as a standalone service, gives you the ability to use Secure File Transfers without having to enter a Microsoft-level contract. If you are looking for feature rich and Microsoft Office Integrated Workflow, perhaps ShareFIle isn't for you, but it is now a cloud-based service that offers enough to get your organization in a safe and secure spot for data transfering.
