What is Segura?
Segura® PAM (formerly senhasegura) is a privileged access management software solution that stores, manages and monitors all credentials, such as passwords, SSH keys and digital certificates, in a secure digital vault. Using encryption mechanisms, the password vault offers users the ability to use only one password to access a series of credentials registered in the solution. Additionally, senhasegura can be used to access all network resources through SSH and RDP protocols, storing all records of their use for audit and compliance analysis purposes.

What differentiates Segura from other similar products?
According to my perspective, Segura stands out for providing strong privileged access control without unnecessary complexity. It simplifies managing credentials, enforcing least privilege, and monitoring access while keeping daily IT operations smooth. Compared to heavier PAM tools, it is easier to deploy and maintain, helping teams improve security posture without adding significant administrative overhead or disrupting user productivity.
What is your favorite aspect of this product?
My favorite aspect of Segura is how it balances security with usability. It gives me solid control over privileged access like managing credentials and enforcing least privilege without making everyday IT work feel overly complicated or slow. According to my perspective, that balance is important because security tools often either become too rigid or too light, but Segura manages to stay practical while still strengthening overall access control across the environment.
What do you dislike most about this product?
What I dislike most about Segura is that, like many PAM tools, it can still take time to fully configure and align with real-world workflows. Even through it’s more straightforward than some enterprise-heavy solutions, setting up policies, defining roles, and fine-tuning access rules requires careful planning upfront. If that initial setup is not done well, it can lead to either overly restrictive access or gaps in coverage. So while it’s easier to manage long term, the early stage still demands patience and attention from the IT team.
What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?
If we are considering Segura, my recommendation would be to first clearly map out our privileged access requirements before deployment. The platform is effective at centralizing credential management and forcing least privilege, but it works best when policies and roles are well-defined from the start. I would also suggest rolling it out gradually so the IT team can refine configurations without disrupting users. Overall, it’s a solid choice for organizations looking to improve security without adopting an overly complex PAM solution.
