What differentiates Schoology Learning from other similar products?
Schoology has more of a K12-feel than other learning management systems. The color-coding of folders provides students and teachers with a learner-friendly, intuitive, visual organizational tool. If a teacher sets up the course well, there should be no misunderstanding of what information is stored and where.
What is your favorite aspect of this product?
The tool is fairly intuitive and requires very little training to implement. Parents and students easily pick up on the course-management style employed by a particular teacher.
What do you dislike most about this product?
The flow in this LMS is missing. While the folders are great for organizations, it feels like you are manually pulling information from one area or another. The majority of teachers who are using Schoology aren't using the tool to enhance online learning but are using it for classroom management of information. (i.e., find your homework assignment here and access a webpage there.) Moreover, unless a school trains teachers on a specific set-up for their course, teachers within the same building create a system that works for them. This haphazard way of filing information can be confusing to learners who go from one teacher to the next.
What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?
Schoology looks very little like the LMS systems that higher education is using. While it may take longer to understand Canvas or Blackboard, in the long run, I would consider another product.

What differentiates Schoology Learning from other similar products?
I think schoology is so well known for their efficient use in many school districts across the country. From my experience, schoology is less glitchy than other learning management systems and is very easy to use for students and teachers.
What is your favorite aspect of this product?
My favorite aspect of the program is the resources tab where I can save online resources and even archive. I can save this information for future classes or years.
What do you dislike most about this product?
The one thing I dislike is the way parents struggle to interact with schoology. I wish there was a user friendly way for a parent to interact with the learning management system independently.
What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?
I think this product is great the video tutorials very easy to understand and straightforward. I would recommend you watch ALL the training videos before you start exploring the program. Otherwise you might miss out on useful content.
