What differentiates RoomPriceGenie from other similar products?
I hadn't used any other products before and I was evaluating my competitors and determining rates on my own. Once I decided on rates I had to change them in my PMS (property management system) and individually on the OTAs (outside travel agents like Expedia and Priceline). It took me hours and by the time I finished inputting a month's rates, my competitors would change many of theirs.
What is your favorite aspect of this product?
I love how easy it is to use and the relatively new feature of posting events that might effect my rets on the rate calendar. Oh, and I love how it integrates seamlessly and I change one rate on a day and it sends it to everyone. I don't always use the recommended rates, but I always consider them because it helps me find things that I may not have considered.
What do you dislike most about this product?
I really don't dislike anything. The biggest flaw that I have found after almost 2 years of use is that when one of my competitors has only the Presidential Suite available (typically 4 times their normal rate), RG suggests a much higher rate for me that is feasible. But it is easy to see why the rate is high and mentally remove that competitor from my competitive market for the day. RG can't do EVERYTHING for you, you need to glance over it to identify anomalies. But if it did everything, I wouldn't have a job.
What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?
Consider how much time you are investing in your current system and the accuracy it produces and see if RG can save you time. I have only contacted them twice for support and was pleased with the interaction. That is worth a lot! Ask for a free trial. That is what sold us.
