What differentiates Microsoft Sharepoint from other similar products?

Sharepoint is a web-based document management tool that is a large CMS built on Asp.Net. This platform has great features like security management, asset library, effective document management which Are able to let the user reach their documents from any device. This platform now can also share out externally as well as internally which makes it easier to interact with outside clients/vendors. Very easy to set up links even the backups and restorations can be managed very quickly, just you would need to use Power-shell using scripts. It provides the ability to limit permission and open for integration with the third-party application.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

Anything which is not possible to share over email that would share through Microsoft Sharepoint by just doing the quick setup. In our organisation, MS Sharepoint is widely used among external vendors such as Payroll, office services, IT team and PF team. This platform has seamless integration with Office 365 products, especially most time getting used through OneNote and OneDrive is also frequently used with this platform. Apart from office 365 products this platform is capable of integration with Forms and InfoPath. Extensive customisation is possible which is why managing lists, document libraries, and workflows experience is seamless.

What do you dislike most about this product?

Since the expectation is very high from Microsoft Sharepoint that is why in some areas this platform needs to improve. The very first thing is a delay in the notification which is very much visible always which needs to take care of. Although this platform is built to move/share a lot of files if the count goes very high then it starts behaving badly. Especially it is concerning when archiving, moving, and reinstating thousands of files. Rest all cool for me and loving it.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

Do you think Microsoft require any kind of recommendation? I don't think so but still, I would say if anyone is looking for secure file sharing with quick set up then go for Microsoft Sharepoint only with any hesitation. Their technical support and service are very cool and they are responsive during odd hours as well. This platform helps to have multiple users within a doc and to be able to comment and tag others that you are working with. Currently I am using Microsoft SharePoint to integrate with Office suite application, collaborate with clients to share necessary files and code versions of different projects with ease of access.

What differentiates Microsoft Sharepoint from other similar products?

Microsoft gives IT support and some kind of stability. You can reach your files via mobile application too. Security reasons are also important.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

You can customize the main page of the sub Sharepoint pages. This can help a lot. You can put detailed information about the file structure. You can upload pictures to help distinguishes different sub sites if you operate lot of them.

What do you dislike most about this product?

Giving access and managing access sometimes could be difficult. I can send out invitation, but I can't manage all sub pages in one platform.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

If you need store business critical files with high security protection Microsoft Sharepoint is a good solution. You can share files internal and external if needed. You can make sites for showing file structure for the users. This is a customizable surface for your business needs.
