GCP::Powerful, Developer-Friendly Cloud AI Tools
Likeliness to Recommend
What differentiates Google Cloud from other similar products?
BigQuery: Google’s serverless, fully-managed data warehouse is industry-leading for real-time analytics at petabyte scale.Vertex AI: A unified ML platform that makes it easier to train, deploy, and manage ML models — with deep integration to Google's AI research (e.g., TensorFlow, PaLM models).Kubernetes: Originally developed by Google, and GCP’s GKE (Google Kubernetes Engine) is widely considered the most mature managed Kubernetes service.
What is your favorite aspect of this product?
BigQuery drastically lowers the barrier to big data analytics. You can query billions of rows in seconds using just standard SQL — no tuning, no clusters, no operations overhead and GKE is another favorite for DevOps teams due to: Smooth auto-scaling Easy cluster management Native Kubernetes features often arrive on GKE first
What do you dislike most about this product?
Support experience can be inconsistent Especially in certain regions, customers report that customer support and account management can feel less responsive
What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?
GCP billing can be confusing at first, especially with services like BigQuery where costs are usage-based (per TB scanned).GCP’s Identity & Access Management (IAM) model is powerful but nuanced:Learn how projects, folders, and organizations work.Use custom roles for least privilege.Audit roles and permissions regularly.GCP has a steeper learning curve than some competitors, but Google Cloud Skills Boost, Qwiklabs, and certification programs (e.g., Associate Cloud Engineer, Professional Cloud Architect) are high quality and widely respected.
Pros
- Helps Innovate
- Continually Improving Product
- Reliable
- Performance Enhancing
