What differentiates CisionOne from other similar products?

I haven't used other monitoring software extensively, but I did do some demos of other providers before I selected Cision. What made Cision stand out was the breadth of coverage sources, it's simple/intuitive design and the reporting functions (ability to create dashboards with key metrics as well as coverage list reports and email coverage roundups). We are a traditional PR agency so this served our needs perfectly.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

The dashboard function. This allows us to effectively evaluate the impact of our client PR activity across all key metrics (AVE, audience reach, top articles/journalists, SoV vs competitors, location of coverage, etc). The coverage list reports are also helpful in demonstrating the volume/range and quality of placements and allowing clients to access articles directly (you can click through to the pieces from the list summaries). I also enjoy the feature where you can tag coverage with a label – this is particularly helpful when we run individual campaigns within BAU activity and want to segment impact.

What do you dislike most about this product?

Three things: 1) I wish the mention streams were able to interact with each other more. E.g. I'd love to be able to create a dashboard where I could compare different mention streams (i.e. a coverage volume timeline that showed x mention stream against y mention stream). 2) It would be good if the top publication metric in the dashboard showed the origin publication (because it also displays syndications, its often just a list of Yahoo and MSN coverage) 3) Although the sales team was amazing, my account management experience hasn't been great. The AI help tool is amazing, so it hasn't mattered, but it is an area of possible improvement.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

If you are a traditional PR agency looking to evaluate the impact of print and online coverage across clients, Cision is the one for you.

What differentiates CisionOne from other similar products?

Compared to one of their competitors, which we used last year, CisionOne has a deeper pool of media outlets that can be reached by using their service.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

I really like being able to drop a pitch (or press release) into the site and having it come back to me with a list of outlets (and specific people) likely to cover that topic.

What do you dislike most about this product?

I realize that it's how business is done in this space, but the a la carte add-ons are tough to swallow.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

I have gotten demos from one of their competitors and used another competitor and CisionOne is the clear cut winner out of the three, unless you have a (for all intents and purposes) limited budget. Don't waste time shopping with the others. You're going to land back on CsionOne anyway!

It provides real-time insights, an extensive global media database, AI-powered monitoring, and customizable reporting, helping communications teams make faster, data-driven decisions and measure the impact of their PR efforts more effectively than using multiple separate tools.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

My favorite aspect of CisionOne is its ability to bring media monitoring, journalist outreach, and performance analytics together in one platform. Having real-time insights and comprehensive reporting in a single place makes it much easier to track coverage, measure PR impact, and make informed decisions quickly.

What do you dislike most about this product?

One area that could be improved is media coverage in Latin America, where there are still some gaps compared to other regions. Additionally, certain platform issues can take a bit longer to be resolved. That said, I appreciate that the CisionOne team takes customer feedback seriously and is committed to addressing these issues, making continuous improvements to the platform over time.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

I would recommend CisionOne to any organization looking for a comprehensive PR and communications platform. Before implementing it, take the time to understand your team's goals and explore the platform's features to get the most value from it. If your organization operates in Latin America, it's also worth evaluating whether the available media coverage meets your specific needs. Overall, it's a powerful solution with strong monitoring, analytics, and media outreach capabilities.
