What differentiates Caspio from other similar products?
Caspio lets you create your own applications and deploy them online. You do not need to be a programmer to build applications, but if you are you can easily extend the functionality. I am a finance guy with strong database skills and Caspio is both quick to learn and extremely powerful for our company. I started out using Caspio for a single line of data input and have grown our use to include 10 complete applications for data collection and analysis. Caspio makes our 2-person department look like a huge IT shop because of its functionality. Regardless of the size of your organization, Caspio can help you manage your data.
What is your favorite aspect of this product?
I really love how Caspio puts us in charge of our own applications. Instead of hiring a website designer/builder and depending on them when they are available, Caspio lets our team build, modify, and maintain our own sites on our schedule. This also keeps our costs down because we are able to do the work in-house. Caspio also lets us make rapid changes to our systems and redeploy immediately, so all updates are made with no loss in availability. Caspio is constantly improving the product and rolling out new features, which enables us to add new functionality for our customers. With each new project we always ask how we can use Caspio.
What do you dislike most about this product?
There is really nothing that we dislike about Caspio. We have been customers for more than 10 years, and they are a vital partner to our organization. Their continued focus on improving the product has lead to our being able to grow our use the same time as Caspio has grown No complaints from our team at all!
What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?
I would suggest starting with Caspio's free tier, and automating a simple process to see how easy it is to use. This is how I started using the system and there is no cost to get started. I also suggest taking advantage of their online training courses and the excellent user forum. Users are extremely helpful and will assist you in figuring out how to do almost anything with the system. Once you get comfortable with the basics it is easy to expand your use to create applications to automate key processes or build data collection and analysis tools. If you can use Access, you can use Caspio, so use that as your starting mindset.
