Reliable Tool for AWS Operations
Likeliness to Recommend
What differentiates AWS Systems Manager from other similar products?
The advantage is its automation capability. Routine operational tasks, such as patch management, software deployment, and configuration updates, can be schedule and standardized using reusable automation documents. And what sets AWS systems manager part for me is how well it brings infrastructure management into a single, unified experience.
What is your favorite aspect of this product?
The features I appreciate is Session Manager. In many environments, securely connecting to severs can involve managing SSH keys, VPNs, or opening network ports that require ongoing maintenance. And I also like how well AWS systems manager integrates with the rest of the AWS ecosystem.
What do you dislike most about this product?
The drawback is that the experience is most compelling if you’re already heavily invested in AWS. And one of my biggest frustrations with AWS Systems Manger is that some of its more advanced capabilities come with a learning curve.
What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?
The piece of advice is to take advantage of Session Manger as early as possible. It quickly becomes one of the most useful features because it provides secure access to instance without requiring inbound SSH or RDP ports. And I would also recommend spending time on the. Initial setup, especially around IAM roles, instance permissions, and resources tagging.
Pros
- Reliable
- Performance Enhancing
- Trustworthy
- Inspires Innovation

Streamlined AWS Management and Automation
Likeliness to Recommend
What differentiates AWS Systems Manager from other similar products?
The differentiating factor is scalability. Because it is a fully managed service, there is no infrastructure overhead to maintain. As the environments grows, Systems Manager scales automatically without requiring additional provisioning or maintenance effort. And what stands out most about AWS Systems Manager is how tightly it is integrated into the broader AWS ecosystem.
What is your favorite aspect of this product?
The strong point is the automation capability through runbooks and Systems Manager Automation documents. Routine tasks such as patch management, instance recovery, and configuration updates can be standardized and executed reliably without manual intervention. And my favorite aspect of AWS Systems Manager is the combination of centralized, automation, and integration.
What do you dislike most about this product?
The limitation is that although Systems Manager provides a wide range of capabilities, some features feel uneven in terms of maturity or usability. And these challenge do not take aways from the value of AWS Systems Manager, but they are important to be aware of.
What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?
According to my point view, my recommendation for anyone considering AWS Systems Manager is to begin by clearly assessing the maturity of your current cloud and infrastructure environment. And I would recommend AWS Systems Manager for organizations that are already invested in AWS and are looking for a centralized way to manager operations, improve automation, and increase visibility across their infrastructure.

Powerful Infrastructure Management
Likeliness to Recommend
What differentiates AWS Systems Manager from other similar products?
It's cost efficiency as most of System Manager features are available at no additional cost and also it's full native AWS ecosystem integration
What is your favorite aspect of this product?
I normally use Ansible to SSH into my instance via port 22. I can't do this on prod that's when i figured out AWS SSM where i do agentless access to my prod instances without requiring SSH and closing port 22 and not needing bastion host
What do you dislike most about this product?
I do face some performance issues when executing commands which sometimes impacts my workflows
What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?
Don't try to implement everything at once. Start with Session Manager for secure instance access and Parameter Store for secrets management because these provide immediate value with minimal difficulties. Once comfortable, gradually add Patch Manager, Automation, and other advanced capabilities
Pros
- Continually Improving Product
- Performance Enhancing
- Efficient Service
- Effective Service
Cons
- Charges for Enhancements
