TrueCrypt is an open-source tool that is used to create a logical encrypted disk on the physical hard disk installed in a workstation. Versions exist for Windows 2000 and 2003 as well as for multiple Linux distributions. Protection is achieved through one of eleven encryption algorithms (e.g. AES, 3DES, and Blowfish) and three hash algorithms.
