Innovation and digital adoption seem to be on the mind of many business leaders these days. In the past few weeks, I have talked with several CIOs and CEOs about evolving digital trends in the manufacturing industry as well as how they can foster a culture of innovation within their companies. This desire, or need, to be more innovative can be driven by a multitude of factors: change in leadership, competitive pressure, shrinking market, new technologies, survival, etc. Many, however, underestimate the magnitude of what this means to an organization, and most don’t know where to start.
