About Ron Gumbert

Ron is the Senior Managing Partner at Info-Tech Research Group for US Federal and Department of Defense clients. He has more than 45 years of experience supporting Public Sector clients in addressing the challenges presented by information technology in areas including strategy and planning, cybersecurity assessment, IT sourcing strategy, program management, process improvement, business analytics, human capital strategy, strategic communications, and risk management. He has supported numerous Federal, State, and Department of Defense clients in the United States and Canada.

Prior to joining Info-Tech, Ron was a Senior Managing Partner for Federal Consulting at Gartner Inc., where he was responsible for Department of Defense and Intelligence Community clients. He has held a number of leadership positions with several major defense contractors and was President of RJS Consulting Group. Prior to entering the industry, Ron had a 30-year career as a nuclear-trained submarine officer. Among assignments, he was Commander of Submarine Squadron Fourteen in Holy Loch Scotland, commanded a nuclear-powered fast attack submarine, and held a number of senior leadership positions in the Pentagon.

Ron holds a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from the United States Naval Academy, a Master’s in Human Resources Management from Pepperdine University, and a Master’s in Business Administration from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
