Info-Tech Research Group surveyed 137 enterprises on a range of topics, including Windows Server 2008 adoption plans. Respondents revealed several key indicators for Windows Server 2008 appropriateness, including:
- Almost 60% of enterprises will use virtualization tools such as VMware products to deploy Windows Server 2008.
- Over 80% of enterprises plan to use the new Microsoft server OS to support SQL server deployments.
- Respondents indicated that new features and performance expectations are the most compelling reasons to adopt the new server OS.
IT leaders can use this report to review the enterprise's motives and timing for Windows Server 2008 adoption.
