There are unintended consequences to poorly designed artificial intelligence. As interactions with AI become more prevalent in peoples’ day-to-day lives, AI is beginning to influence society. There is a movement of people who believe the earth is flat and an AI that was poorly designed is the cause. Flat-Earthers are just the canary in the coal mine. IT needs to monitor AI to ensure there are less unintended consequences in the future and less people believing the earth is flat.
