The Service-Based Cost Model Tool is designed to identify the cost of IT department services, such as the cost of the help desk service.

The tool uses cost allocation and the IT department general ledger to identify service costs. The tool supports the following major allocation methods:

  • Even spread
  • Cost rate
  • Manual assignment
  • Activity-based

Additionally, the tool includes a module that accounts for service consumption of other services.
