To address the growing demand for food, farmers must rely on emerging data-driven technologies. However, farmers fear the potential consequences of their data being exploited due to an absence of legal and regulatory frameworks. Updating data governance frameworks will help improve the transparency surrounding data privacy and will ultimately help establish trust between farmers and third-party smart farming technology providers.
