K-12 IT faces a great deal of challenges based on the bifurcation of their responsibilities not only to the ‘business’ goals of a school, board, or district, but also to the curriculum goals of the teachers and their governing body. The split demand for advanced IT capabilities for administration and for massively expanding device loads competes against the need for responsible, powerful, but measured and protected technology in the classroom. Finding ways to manage both together will ease IT’s role and increase strategic satisfaction of other executives.
