Open source software may benefit the enterprise, but first the enterprise must discover what tools exist. To get started, check out the Optaros EOS Directory Web site, and consult their Open Source Catalog. Readers can expect to find:

  • Charts listing several hundred open source projects in four key categories:
    • Operations.
    • Application Development.
    • Infrastructure Solutions.
    • Applications.
  • Pertinent information for each OS project, including:
    • Optaros ratings.
    • User ratings.
    • Case studies.
    • Popularity scores.

The link "Open source Catalogue" is failed.

    Have you an updated catalogue?

Thanks for your comment. The third party company, Optaros, to which we linked in 2007, has since been acquired by SourceForge, so the catalog we linked to was removed from their site. However, Optaros does continue to operate EOS Directory, which has a similar open source software catalog available.
