There are three main challenges around ESB project documentations:
- ESB involves many business units and IT teams. Those teams would usually provide many ideas and suggestions for the ESB project. Documenting and maintaining those ideas is a challenge.
- Many decisions are made in the course of the ESB project. It is essential to document the options tabled, the decisions made, and more importantly the rationale behind picking some options but not the others.
- The workbook can be “data-mined” to extract lessons learned and best practices to influence future ESB development projects.
The workbook contains an action log and issue log to help address documentation challenges.
