Teachers have reason to be annoyed when students use digital devices inappropriately in class, reducing their learning and that of those around them. However, the solution lies not in banning digital devices but rather in teachers playing a more proactive role in students’ goal setting and in educational institutions having a deliberate approach to digital technologies.
