Over the last decade, agile development has become one of the most talked about methods of software development. It encompasses many methodologies that are used globally, Scrum being one of the most popular. Danube released its ScrumWorks Pro version 3.1 program in July, 2008 to support Scrum methods. IT leaders practicing Scrum techniques should evaluate ScrumWorks Pro to determine if it is a fit for the organization.

Background and Direction

Founded in 2000, Danube Technologies is a privately held company based in Bellevue, Washington that provides software and training for the Scrum methodology. Danube developed ScrumWorks to support its own agile project management needs and launched ScrumWorks Basic as freeware in 2004. Danube went on to release its first commercial offering, ScrumWorks Pro, in 2007 and now has a client base consisting of over 92,000 registered users for both products. ScrumWorks Pro 3.1 is currently shipping, and version 4.0 is scheduled for fall 2008.
