Capacity management and planning projects have three phases: IT service design, identification of critical capacity, and development of instructive KPIs.
- Build the IT services based on business-critical infrastructure.
- Identify the key infrastructure capacity for each service.
- Design and monitor metrics that provide both short-term capacity indicators and long-term trending data.
Use the Capacity Analysis Tool to guide and record the design of the IT services through all three phases.
