6-Oct-09 Nortel Networks Corp. is in talks to sell almost all of its optical networking and ethernet assets to Maryland's Ciena Corp., the two companies said Monday.
The announcement could mark one of the final stages in the dismantling of Nortel, once Canada's biggest company and the largest maker of telecom equipment in North America, which has struggled to restructure inside bankruptcy protection under the gaze of its creditors.
