In 2008, Info-Tech wrote about the introduction of Citrix XenDesktop as announced at the annual Synergy conference. While the virtualization landscape has changed significantly since then, priorities have not.
- IT still wants ease of management;
- End users still want a smooth experience; and
- Business executives still want to save money.
At that time, Citrix was answering two of these three priorities, but the price tag was still too high. Since then, Citrix has delivered free XenServer and increased its value proposition with the cloned images technology to reduce centralized storage costs. Have they made the same moves with XenDesktop?
