The Quest for Canada's Smartest IT Seeks to Educate Canada's IT Leaders on Cloud Computing

February 19th, 2010 – London, ON - In an effort to educate and knowledge share with Canadian IT workers, The Quest for Canada’s Smartest IT is hosting a series of highly informative webinars to complement their campaign to find Canada’s smartest and greenest IT departments.  The first, “Strategies to Optimize the Cloud,” focuses on virtualization for SMB and will take place Wednesday February 24th, 2010.

 “Virtualization has saved my life on numerous occasions since we implemented it in 20??,” said Dwight Garraway, IT Manager for The Central Group.  “However, for the internal cloud to work the focus has to be on capacity planning and measurement as well as a physical infrastructure that optimizes VM performance .”

Dwight will be joining John Sloan, Research Analyst for Info-Tech Research Group and Jim O’Higgins, Program Manager for IBM Canada as one of the campaign’s ‘SmartPeople’.  The session promises to be interesting and useful to IT workers building a case to implement virtualization or looking to optimize virtualization already in place.
