Hardware asset management (HAM) design is about meeting the business goals of the organization and abiding by applicable legislation while using the least resources possible. HAM is not a one-area initiative, but encompasses the entire asset lifecycle. The Hardware Asset Management Request Processes are designed to:

  • Integrate HAM into existing processes.
  • Document revised processes.
  • Ensure all lifecycle stages are approved, documented, and follow procedures.

This template will provide a starting point for integrating HAM into help desk processes for the basic functions of adding new users, terminating users, and marking equipment for disposal.
