Info-Tech Research Group recently completed a comparison of six market-leading Customer Relationship Management (CRM) solutions. One of the evaluated products was SAP CRM 7.0. The evaluation examines specific strengths and weaknesses to determine to what degree SAP CRM would make a good choice for an organization implementing a CRM solution. This research note outlines several key points, including:

  • SAP’s position in the spectrum of CRM offerings.
  • Description of the SAP CRM solution.
  • Product strengths and challenges.

SAP CRM is a realistic solution for most existing SAP Software ERP customers, or those planning a switch to SAP, as long as deep functionality is needed across sales, marketing, and service.  For non-SAP ERP customers, the business case isn’t viable. Non-SAP customers that need a product of similar enterprise breadth are better off considering Oracle’s Siebel or Salesforce.com.
