Your Challenge
- The decision to co-locate all or part of the data center facility overseas can be risky. IT leaders in North American organizations that are suddenly charged with managing global facilities often lack the time to properly evaluate this critical decision, and are not familiar with the European managed services market.
- Distance overseas can make the co-location/managed services engagement more difficult to manage. North American organizations outsourcing in Europe must pay close attention to the vendor’s engagement practices, service, and support when choosing a vendor.
- European organizations looking to co-locate all or part of their data center facility must also choose the vendor carefully. Because the market is so commoditized in the facilities and services they provide, vendors will go to great lengths to differentiate themselves, creating a disguised differentiation where they do whatever they can to not look like another vendor. This makes it hard for organizations to get back to the apples-to-apples comparison, creating additional confusion.
