Threat and Regulatory Landscapes Make Increased SIEM Adoption Crucial

Info-Tech Research Group recognizes LogRhythm, Sensage and Q1Labs as champions in the SIEM market

London, ON, August 27, 2012 - Regulatory pressures and the threat of hacking activities are mounting; to combat this enterprises are increasingly deploying dedicated security tools. In particular, the adoption of Security Information & Event Management (SIEM) solutions, which allow an enterprise to manage and respond to an ever-widening range of threats and compliance requirements, is accelerating.  The SIEM landscape has drastically evolved over the last 18 months and grown increasingly competitive as larger vendors make strategic acquisitions into the market.

“The SIEM space is now over ten years old and, through acquisitions, solutions are transitioning from mainly independent, SIEM-focused technology vendors to larger vendors with broad portfolios of security and related technology solutions,” says James Quin, Director of Research for Info-Tech Research Group. “It’s the smaller players’ market to lose, and smaller dedicated players will need to continue to innovate in order to remain relevant in the space; otherwise, they risk being pushed out by larger vendors.”

A report released by Info-Tech Research Group names LogRhythm, Sensage, and Q1Labs, Champions in the Security Information & Event Management (SIEM) Market.

LogRhythm, a Champion, is one of the few remaining SIEM-specific vendors in the market. It delivers a strong SIEM product with built-in file integrity monitoring and host intrusion detection capabilities. Its modular platform offers flexibility and should be on the shortlist of companies of all sizes.

Sensage, a small company with high-profile clients, continues to get top marks, and earns a position in the Champion quadrant. Its SIEM solution offers big data management capabilities to a growing list of impressive customers with stringent security requirements.

Rounding out the Champions’ list is Q1Labs. Recently acquired by IBM, it has joined its quality SIEM solution with a vendor that can raise its profile substantially.  This makes it a top competitor within the market and places it in a great position for increased market growth.

While these three vendors came out on top as Champions, competitors offer compelling alternatives, especially where business requirements and/or existing IT security solutions dictate a different priority on specific product features.
