Compliance gives business leaders nightmares and IT management headaches. It is a blizzard of competing frameworks and overlapping priorities. Info-Tech recently asked 166 IT leaders about their compliance initiatives. The results provide guidance on:
- The key motivators for compliance.
- The popularity of different frameworks.
- Satisfaction levels with different frameworks.
- Internal accountability for compliance violations.
- The benefits of compliance initiatives.
The results indicate that COBIT and ITIL are the most popular frameworks and that IT clearly has compliance responsibility. Info-Tech asked a basic question: “Who loses their job after a compliance violation?” In most cases, it's the IT Director.
