The data archiving policy allows for companies to better meet local data archiving compliance and regulatory constraints, contract obligations, and promises made to employees, customers, and partners. The policy provides a means for appropriately archiving data and making it available for retrieval in order to protect the best interests of a given company or those of their employees, customers, and/or partners in the case that the company becomes involved in litigation or business disaster recoveries. The data archiving policy allows for corporate data to be archived in a way that it can be swiftly and inexpensively located and used, amended or destroyed, and monitored and secured.

Risks Addressed by Policy:

  • Overspending on inefficient storage mediums.
  • Data cannot be recovered in the event of a disaster.
  • Premature disposition of data that is required for strategic, regulatory, and legal purposes.
