About Me

Wesley McPherson is an Associate Research Director for the Security and Risk practice at Info-Tech Research Group. Wesley is an expert on cyber security for today’s digital environments covering technical, legal, and political implications.

Wesley’s experienced areas of research have been on cyber espionage, data privacy, vulnerability management, security awareness and training, compliance management, cloud securitization, and a myriad of specific security technology spaces. His major focus has been on the areas of security strategy development, CISO enablement, and risk management.

During his time at Info-Tech, Wesley has conducted primary and secondary research, built interactive data analysis tools, and developed quantification methods for risk exposure and information security benefits. Wesley works directly with security practitioners and CISOs to understand security and risk related issues, to help identify appropriate mitigating controls to those issues, and develop validation processes to ensure effective security.

Wesley holds an Honours Specialization in Business Administration from the Richard Ivey School of Business where he focused his studies on predictive analytic strategy and management science. Wesley holds a GSEC certification and has spoken at various security conferences.
