Senior Analyst, Enterprise Business Applications - ERP/CRM
Senior analysts conduct innovative research and deliver advice through written reports, client inquiries, and presentations. As a part of Info-Tech’s Enterprise Business Applications research team, the Senior Analyst – ERP/CRM serves professionals who are responsible for the success of their enterprise business applications strategy, selection and implementation. In addition to client-facing guidance, the Senior Analyst will guide, coach, and mentor Research Analysts (juniors) and work alongside other Senior Analysts on the Enterprise Business Applications team. The Senior Analysts report to the Lead Analyst for Enterprise Business Applications.
The Senior Analyst – ERP/CRM writes to, presents to, and advises IT and business professionals about Info-Tech’s research on all aspects of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) commercial software packages. This includes help with strategy, technology and vendor selection and implementation of software vendors such as SAP, Oracle, Salesforce, Microsoft, Infor, Epicor and Sage as well as competing point solutions for specific functional modules in accounting, human resources, distribution, etc. The Senior Analyst should have a strong passion for and understanding of the technology and business issues facing IT and business executives today and an appetite for conducting and writing research to stay abreast of the issues.
Responsibilities:
The Senior Analyst works as part of a small, high-performance team and collaborates with others in all aspects of the job. He or she is expected to:
- Focus primarily on ERP with CRM as a secondary focus.
- Develop a deep understanding of what Info-Tech clients require to be successful as enterprise business application professionals.
- Conduct research into key aspects of the responsibilities of ERP/CRM software professionals, including selection, implementation, architecture, integration and support.
- Help define the future of the ERP/CRM landscape by painting an accurate, forward-looking view and predicting the effect of new solutions and strategies. They also help clients identify which developments matter and the steps to take today to drive business benefit.
- Participate in 7-8 research projects per year that convey new ideas in a rich business context. These projects result in a solution set of written material presented in a storyboard format with accompanying tools and templates, and typically: 1) introduce new thinking about successful business and technology strategies and best and next practices; 2) present strategic organization and technology implementation plans; 3) compare new technologies or services and their potential to help clients solve their business challenges (e.g., via an Info-Tech Vendor Landscape); or 4) size emerging business opportunities (e.g., market sizing/forecast).
- Guide, coach, and mentor Research Analysts (juniors) while working in small teams on research projects.
- Maintain stewardship over ERP/CRM-related sections of Info-Tech Research Group’s research taxonomy.
- Maintain currency of research in ERP/CRM solutions with short blog posts or solution set updates.

The Senior Analysts report to the Lead Analyst for Strategy & Leadership.
