Vendor Briefing: Intermedia’s Unite
Intermedia is a UCaaS, CCaaS, and cloud business applications provider that has recently seen rapid market growth with its Unite and UNIVERGE BLUE offerings, the latter of which is supported through Intermedia’s partnership with NEC. Later this year, Intermedia plans to release an API platform to allow organizations to access its Unite and contact center solutions.
Intermedia’s Unite hosts a variety of unified communications solutions, including:
- Phone system
- Videoconferencing
- Desktop/mobile access
- Backup and collaboration
- Fax
- Presence indicator
- Chat
- Contact center capabilities
Specific product highlights include Intermedia’s AnyMeeting for HD videoconferencing and SecuriSync for file, sync, and backup.
AnyMeeting offers all the security best practices that end users have come to expect from videoconferencing solutions. These include the ability to set passwords, lock meetings (with an automatic function), have a knock feature, kick malicious attendees out, mute all, give-and-take mouse control, and screen sharing. AnyMeeting also adjusts its video quality according to the user’s bandwidth.
SecuriSync not only allows for file sharing and collaboration, it does so through secure access across devices, providing real-time file backup, unlimited versioning, and anti-malware and antivirus protection.
Unite has a wide range of integrations, particularly with Office 365 for email and productivity. Other major integrations include G Suite, Slack, and Salesforce.

Our Take
Info-Tech has previously reported that Intermedia is smart choice for a full UCaaS solution for Microsoft shop organizations. However, Intermedia’s continued growth and focus on integrations means that organizations should not just look the other way if they do not have Office 365. SMEs who are looking for a UCaaS solution should especially consider shortlisting Intermedia, as Unite is primarily aimed at this target market.
AnyMeeting is certainly establishing itself as a go-to videoconferencing solution. While it lacks the best-of-breed capabilities offered by Zoom and Cisco Webex, AnyMeeting is beginning to go toe-to-toe with LogMeIn’s GoToMeeting and Google Meet. Given the partnerships and progress Intermedia is making with other major vendors (such as its recent UNIVERGE BLUE offering with NEC and provision of Microsoft services to 70,000+ Navisite users), Intermedia is absolutely one to watch as it becomes more than a contender in the UCaaS space.
