SentinelOne Partners With Automox to Offer Customers Automated Vulnerability Patching

Late last month, SentinelOne, the autonomous endpoint protection company, and Automox, a cloud-based automated patch management and configuration management solution, announced their partnership to provide automated vulnerability patching for SentinelOne customers.

Leveraging SentinelOne’s platform, information will feed into the Automox SaaS console to automate the entire patching and endpoint configuration process, overall reducing human intervention, labor, and future vulnerability exploits by threat actors.

Our Take

Patch management and prioritization is a laborious task that is often neglected, leaving organizations susceptible to cyber attacks. As regulations come forward in the future that require companies to install patches within tight, defined time frames, there is a critical need for automated patch management options.

Often it is unrealistic, and sometimes unreliable, for your SecOps team to oversee the entire process with only so many hours in a workday. With this partnership, SentinelOne makes a strategic move towards aligning with the threat landscape and pressures placed by regulatory bodies. It’s foreseeable that more endpoint protection collaborations will follow, leaning towards automating features such as patch management, in order to keep up with customer needs and to stay competitive in the vendor landscape.
