Recent Rally Software Product Enhancements
The team at Rally Software (now a Broadcom company) has introduced several enhancements to their software offering.
These changes include:
- Enhancements to the editor UI – providing users with the ability to maximize the editor screen, paste from MS Word with formatting, and format images, among other features.
- Swimlane feature improvements on the Team Board – allowing customers to drag and drop between swimlanes.
- Beta implementation of GitHub Cloud integration – providing users with a better view of work occurring within GitHub from Rally and vice-versa. Initially they are seeking users for interviews and feedback, but they will open the beta in late October.

Our Take
Broadcom’s acquisition of CA Technologies (including its layoff of a large number of CA Technology employees) makes the future of Rally Software through CA Technology questionable. Broadcom did not have a lot of breadth in the software space; that the companies were so different added to any discomfort around the future of the solution.
While it’s good to see that CA Technologies has continued to produce enhancements that could serve its customer base, it is still a wait-and-see game for where CA Technologies and Rally Software may move in the future.
